Learning in a clean environment is essential for students to gain the best possible education. Schools are responsible for maintaining a sanitary environment and providing the necessary resources to ensure that they can do this. With the right resources, teachers and staff can create an atmosphere where students feel comfortable to learn and grow. Quality learning starts with keeping a clean and hygienic school and daycare environment, and it’s up to everyone to make sure that this is possible.
While the school year is underway, students and educators are joining forces to ensure their learning environment is safe and clean. In many daycares and schools, students are taking on the responsibility of cleaning their own classrooms, while also helping to clean common areas like hallways and libraries. Educators have been teaching students about the importance of good hygiene and the impact it can have on academic performance, as well as overall health. As part of this effort, school staff are providing supplies and guidance to help keep classrooms and other areas clean. With everyone’s help, schools can remain healthy, safe places for learning.
Contact Qualimaid cleaning service today to learn more about how we can help improve your daycare and school’s cleaning program. Our maids cleaners will work with you to develop a cleaning strategy that meets your specific needs and meets the standards set by the health and safety of your students in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, North Shore, North Shore and surrounding area.

Child-Safe and Non-Toxic Cleaning Products
Children spend hours each day in classrooms and daycare spaces where they touch surfaces, toys, and floors constantly. Every cleaning product we use in educational facilities is certified child-safe, non-toxic, and free of harsh chemicals. Our products are Health Canada approved, fragrance-free to avoid respiratory irritation, free of volatile organic compounds, and effective against common childhood illnesses including RSV, influenza, and norovirus. We never use bleach-based products around children, opting instead for hydrogen peroxide-based disinfectants that break down into water and oxygen.
Classroom Daily Disinfection Procedures
Our classroom cleaning protocol operates around the school day: before classes begin, we complete surface disinfection, floor cleaning, and restroom sanitization. During school hours, we are available for spill response, restroom restocking, and emergency cleaning. After dismissal, we perform comprehensive cleaning including desk and chair disinfection, whiteboard and chalkboard cleaning, floor sweeping and wet mopping, garbage removal, and high-touch surface sanitization (doorknobs, light switches, handrails, faucets).
Playground and Outdoor Equipment Sanitization
Outdoor play equipment accumulates dirt, bird droppings, pollen, and germs. Our playground cleaning includes pressure-washing play structures, sanitizing slides, swings, and climbing equipment, cleaning sandbox areas, and disinfecting outdoor benches and tables. We use child-safe, biodegradable cleaning agents that do not harm grass, plants, or the environment.
Quebec Ministry of Education Cleaning Standards
Educational facilities in Quebec must meet strict sanitation requirements under the Ministre de lducation and the Ministre de la Famille for daycare centers (CPEs). Our cleaning services are fully compliant with Quebec provincial regulations for educational institutions, including documented cleaning logs for health inspections, proper chemical storage and labeling per Quebec workplace safety standards, staff training in educational facility cleaning protocols, and compliance with the Loi sur la sant et la scurit du travail.
Allergy-Aware Cleaning for Sensitive Children
Up to 25% of children suffer from allergies or asthma. Our allergy-reduction protocols include HEPA-filtered vacuums that capture 99.97% of airborne particles, microfiber dusting that traps rather than spreads allergens, fragrance-free, dye-free cleaning products that do not trigger sensitivities, and targeted cleaning of upholstery, carpets, and drapes where allergens accumulate. We work with school administrators to accommodate specific allergy alerts (nut-free zones, latex-free environments).
Toy and Naptime Area Sanitization
Daycare toys and naptime materials require special attention. Our protocol includes daily washing and sanitizing of plastic toys in commercial dishwashers or soaking solutions, weekly machine washing of stuffed animals and fabric toys, daily changing and laundering of naptime cot linens and blankets, sanitization of naptime mats and cots between each use, and monthly deep cleaning of toy storage bins and shelves.
Cold and Flu Season Deep Cleaning Program
During peak illness season (October through March), we escalate cleaning frequency and expand coverage. Our cold and flu program includes twice-daily disinfection of all high-touch surfaces, electrostatic sprayer application in classrooms after confirmed illness cases, increased restroom cleaning frequency, air purifier filter changes and ventilation cleaning, and staff training on season-specific protocols. Schools using our enhanced seasonal program report up to 30% reductions in absenteeism during flu season.
